The Urban League of Greater Madison is excited to have the 40th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Recognition Breakfast return to an in-person event this year for the first since the COVID pandemic.

The highlight of the Breakfast is the presentation of Outstanding Young Person Awards to over 200 middle and high school students of color in Dane County who were nominated by their schools for their academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and service to the community.

The Breakfast will also feature presentation of the Betty Franklin-Hammonds Scholarships awards, recognition of the new class of MMSD Mann Scholars, Delta Sigma Theta Creative Arts Winners, and the George Anglin Memorial Scholarship Recipients.

The Breakfast is open to the public and is one of the oldest and most well attended family observations of the King Holiday in Wisconsin. Over 900 youth, parents, school, and community members are expected to attend. The event typically does sell out, so purchase your tickets now.
