The Healthcare Administration Training Program is designed to help you launch a career in this industry through clerical and administrative positions that offer outstanding career growth potential. Graduates of the program can expect to find full-time jobs that provide a living wage, health insurance, and other benefits such as tuition reimbursement. Target occupations include Medical Receptionist, Medical Scheduler, Medical Records Clerk, Medical Secretary, Insurance Verifier, Coding Assistant, General Office, Program Assistant, Help Desk Representative,?and others.

Classroom Training

Classroom training through Madison College includes Medical Language for Business Professionals, Medical Office Procedures, Customer Contact, Keyboarding, MS Word & MS Excel 2013 Beginning.

Hands-on training components

Through our unique partnerships with area businesses, participants also receive?training in Epic electronic health records software, insurance terminology, and HIPPA/privacy policies PLUS a 40-hour internship (unpaid).

Training schedule

Training is Mondays through Friday, most days from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM for 12 weeks. Participants can also expect to spend 5 to 10 hours per week on homework and other self-guided study.

Are You Eligible?

The Healthcare Administrative Training Program is designed for individuals currently unemployed or underemployed with an expressed interest in administrative career in a healthcare environment. The program is also appropriate for those who are seeking new employment or career advancement opportunities in this sector. To be considered, participants:

  • Must have a GED, HSED, or high school diploma.
  • Must complete a Compass assessment and earn a score of at least 75 in Reading, 69 in Writing and 30 in Math.
  • Must be able to type at least 20 wpm.
  • Must have no convictions for information crimes (forgery, fraud, etc.).

There is no cost to participate. However, space?is?limited and candidates must complete a competitive application process.
